Curriculum
PCS #1 follows the California State Content
Standards for Public Schools and the LAUSD modified curriculum
as closely as possible, in conjunction with the student's
IEP goals. The curriculum is based upon the goal of helping
students reach their fullest potential at the same time providing
an educational foundation provided by the regular education
school. The program will be modified to meet the needs of
a wide range of students with different abilities to facilitate
the highest degree of independence upon transition and/or
graduation.
A student's curricular goals are
monitored each semester by the teacher, and will be documented
in the students' files. The teacher will be evaluated by administrators
to evaluate student progress. In addition to quarterly progress
reports, semester report cards and/or progress reports, and
the annual IEP will be 'evaluated by administrators to evaluate
student progress. Each teacher will have access to the Content
Standards and modified curriculum to reference for lesson
plans and graduation requirements if a student is on the graduation
track.
