PCS follows the California State Content Standards for Public Schools and the LAUSD modified curriculum as closely as possible, in conjunction with the student's IEP goals. The curriculum is based upon the goal of helping students reach his or her fullest potential at the same time providing an educational foundation provided by the regular education school. The program will be modified to meet the needs of a wide range of students with different abilities to facilitate the highest degree of independence upon transition and/or graduation.

A student's curricular goals are monitored each semester by the teacher, and are documented in the student's files. Credentialed teachers are evaluated by administrators to monitor student progress. Progress is determined by quarterly progress reports, semester report cards, weekly data reports,a nd the annual IEP. Each teacher is trained in the common core curriculum standards for diploma-bound students and alternative curriculum for students on a functional skills track.
