Behavior Modification

PCS trains all staff in evidence-based practices and strategies of Applied Behavioral Analysis to address student behavior and improve quality of life across environments. Staff is trained to use positive reinforcement methodology and interventions to increase learner outcomes.

PCS utilizes the three- tier positive behavior intervention systems to create an effective environment in each classroom. The systems of support include primary or school-wide interventions, secondary for the small group, and tertiary or intensive for the individual student.

PCS on-site counselors are available to students for weekly counseling and crisis intervention. PCS contracts with an NPA to develop and implement behavior support plans, along with direct assistance in the classroom for behavior support on a weekly basis and as needed. Classroom staff collects weekly data sheets to monitor student progress and develop appropriate individualized programs for each student.
